Ok so I bought another airsoft gun. I just can't resist the look of the M14 SOCOM of Cyma. As the successor of Springfields M1 Garand the M14 is my pick as a sniper rifle from the choices in airsoft guns. The finish was absolutely beautiful for an ACM sans the real steel marking of the M14. Being an avid fan of the movie Enemy at the Gates this rifle is the closest thing I could compare to the classic look of world war 2 rifles.
I've opted to buy this ACM rifle to that of Tokyo Marui since their price range was so wide (TM costs about P18,000 while the Cyma costs around P4500 only) and since Cyma m14 is a total clone of TM the aftermarket accessories are compatible. The only problem with Cyma is that its internals are very weak. I heard that the gearbox can't support past m120 or pdi90 springs and the motor isn't that good so the rate of fire is very slow. Anyway even if I had bought the TM I'd still would have changed the internals with better parts so I rather splurge the price difference of the two brands in upgrading my M14 with a sturdy gearbox, faster motor and high tension spring among others. I'll probably upgrade this to 500 FPS more or less since I want it to be a field marksman rifle.
The only irk about this rifle is it's twice heavier than my M4A1. I'll probably be getting good excercise lugging this thing around in the jungle.
